Forecast Discussion: Air quality levels continue to be in the GREEN range as winds begin to shift around to the northwest and increase in speed. These stronger winds will bring much colder air into the region as temperatures decrease by 20 degrees. Air quality should remain in the GREEN range through at least Saturday but as wind speeds decrease, pollution could become more concentrated at the surface and thus, allow the AQI reading to increase Sunday. High pressure will continue to cover the region through Tuesday, but then another low will slide through the state and bring a chance for more rain to the Triad. (Bodenhamer)
