Forecast Discussion: Yellow (moderate) AQIs continue for the majority of the state Monday, with the exception of northwest and north-central Minnesota where AQIs are green (good). Most of the yellow AQIs are a result of ozone, however fine particles also remain elevated in the core of the Twin Cities. More widespread green AQIs begin arriving overnight from the north behind a cold front, with all locations back in the green by Tuesday afternoon. Green conditions remain in the forecast through midweek, however we'll need to monitor seasonal burning for potential yellow AQIs in the northwest on Wednesday, and across the southeast on Thursday. |
