Forecast Discussion: Current conditions: We are starting to feel the beginnings of an upper level low sliding slowly eastward into the area this Friday afternoon in the form of thunderstorm activity. This low will continue to influence our weather over the weekend, and most likely, as we move into next week as well. *** Saturday's forecast: Mostly cloudy skies will continue for the day Saturday, with showers and a thunderstorm likely just about any time. The extensive cloud cover will keep ozone from forming out of the good range, while a stiff southeasterly breeze should keep fine particulate levels low as well. *** Sunday's forecast: Rather cloudy and humid for Sunday, with showers and thunderstorms again likely, and some heavier downpours will also occur. Concentrations of both particles and ozone will be on the low side. *** Monday's forecast: Clouds and limited amounts of sunshine for the day Monday as showers and a thunderstorm will continue to pop in the juicy air mass. Ozone and fine particulate will continue to be in the good range. *** Extended forecast: An upper level low pressure area will shift southward as we move into the mid week period. A south to southeasterly flow of tropical air will continue, along with a daily chance for showers and thunderstorms. The heaviest of these are most likely in the afternoon and evening hours. Good air quality will continue through the period.---McAuliffe
