Forecast Discussion: Current conditions: High pressure located over the southeastern part of the nation is bringing in milder air this Friday afternoon. Overall air quality for the day should average in the upper good range thanks to increasing mixing of the past couple of hours. Clear to partly cloudy tonight with moderate levels of PM2.5 in many areas due to a late night inversion. *** Saturday's forecast: Breezy Saturday with partly sunny skies and a mild afternoon. Although fine particulate starts the day moderate, air quality will turn good due to afternoon mixing. High temperatures in the middle to upper 40s. *** Sunday's forecast: Mostly cloudy and on the mild side Sunday with a rain shower or two as temperatures reach close to 50 degrees. Limited mixing may bring PM2.5 averages up to the moderate range again. *** Monday's forecast: Rather mild for the day Monday with a couple of showers still possible, and light winds maintaining moderate air quality as temperatures can soar close to 60 degrees. Rain is likely Monday night as a cold front passes through. *** Extended forecast: Colder and more seasonable air will return Tuesday into Wednesday in the wake of the cold front. Strong mixing will bring low levels of fine particulate during the middle of the week.---McAuliffe
