AQI: Good (0 - 50) AQI: Good (0 - 50)
Air quality is considered satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
AQI: Moderate (51 - 100) AQI: Moderate (51 - 100)
Air quality is acceptable; however, for some pollutants there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.

Although general public is not likely to be affected at this AQI range, people with lung disease, older adults and children are at a greater risk from exposure to ozone, whereas persons with heart and lung disease, older adults and children are at greater risk from the presence of particles in the air.

Forecast Discussion: FORECAST SUMMARY: Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 through Friday, July 28th, 2017 Ozone: Ozone concentrations will range between Good and Moderate Tuesday and Wednesday with generally Good levels Thursday and Friday. PM-2.5: 24-hour Fine Particulate concentrations will be mostly Good through the forecast period. FORECAST DISCUSSION: High pressure slides off to the east Tuesday as the next weather system approaches from the west. Skies will be sunny Tuesday with comfortable temperatures and humidity levels. We currently have a low back ground of pollution over the state. Ozone may increase a bit from Monday’s levels; however, only a few Moderates are possible. Fine particulate will remain Good. On Wednesday, a cold front sinks in from the northwest bringing clouds and chances for precipitation by afternoon across northern and central portions of the state. Sunshine is expected most of the day further south and both temperatures and humidity levels increase. Ozone will likely reach Moderate in areas without clouds overhead. I wouldn’t be surprised if a monitor or two reached low-end USG in either the southwest or southeast; however, the threat for widespread high ozone is not high enough at this time to warrant an Action Day. The cold front will pass the state later Thursday with cooler, dryer conditions by Friday. Good levels of both ozone and fine particulate are expected Thursday and Friday. EXTENDED FORECAST: Extended forecast models show quiet conditions through much of the weekend and there is a bit of uncertainty on a boundary bringing possible showers/storms early next week. At this time it doesn’t look like ozone has a chance to significantly increase through early next week but this forecast will be updated Friday to better detail the expected pollution levels for Saturday through Monday. Forecast updated by Stephanie Hengesbach: Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 Next forecast update: Friday, July 28th, 2017
