Forecast Discussion: Air quality forecast northern Indiana issued Thursday, September 29, 2016 for Friday, September 30 - Monday, October 3. An upper level trough and low pressure located over central and southern Indiana will continue to influence the weather pattern across northern Indiana through Saturday night with mostly cloudy conditions and periods of showers. The upper level low will gradually move to the north and northeast of northern Indiana into southeast Michigan by Sunday morning/afternoon. Wind speeds will remain rather high at 15 to 20 miles per hour (mph) with gusts over 25 mph through Friday night along with high temperatures mostly in the 60s. This will produce good air quality for both ozone and fine particulates through Sunday with PM2.5 concentrations increasing enough Sunday night/Monday to forecast moderate air quality for PM2.5 by Monday. Ozone will remain in the good range through Monday. The next air quality forecast update will be on Monday.
