Forecast Discussion: Thursday, September 29th – Expect a warm and partly-sunny day today, with increasing clouds and cooler temperatures as the next weather disturbance nears, bringing a chance of showers late tonight followed by probable showers on Friday and early Saturday. Sunday and Monday should be mostly sunny with near-normal temperatures. Relatively light winds and weak ventilation on Thursday and Friday will allow levels of fine particulate (PM-2.5) to increase at times, especially during the evening and morning hours. The return of unsettled weather should help to disperse some of the fine particulates and improve overall air quality for the weekend, although the cooler nights will continue to cause elevated fine particulate (PM-2.5) levels. Air quality may reach the AQI-Moderate range on Thursday and Friday, but should improve to the AQI-Good range on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. /MCKAY
