AQI: Good (0 - 50) AQI: Good (0 - 50)
Air quality is considered satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
AQI: Moderate (51 - 100) AQI: Moderate (51 - 100)
Air quality is acceptable; however, for some pollutants there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150) AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150)
Although general public is not likely to be affected at this AQI range, people with lung disease, older adults and children are at a greater risk from exposure to ozone, whereas persons with heart and lung disease, older adults and children are at greater risk from the presence of particles in the air.
AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200) AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200)
Everyone may begin to experience health effects members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

Forecast Discussion: Wednesday, November 22: As a cold front passes through the Mahoning Valley, light to moderate northwesterly winds will bring clean air into the region, yielding Good AQI levels. Thanksgiving Day, November 23: Light south-southwesterly winds will reduce pollutant dispersion in Youngstown-Warren. However, pollutant carryover from previous days will be low. Therefore, AQI levels will be high-Good. Friday, a strong temperature inversion during the early morning hours will trap pollutants near the surface, and light southerly winds will transport regional pollutants into the area. As a result, AQI levels will be low-Moderate. Saturday, a cold front will move through Ohio, increasing mixing in the atmosphere and generating moderate winds. These conditions will effectively disperse pollutants, leading to Good AQI levels. Sunday, northwesterly winds behind the departing cold front will keep the low levels of the atmosphere well mixed, yielding continued Good AQI levels. Monday, an upper-level ridge of high pressure and light winds will inhibit mixing. However, low pollutant carryover from Sunday will keep AQI levels Good.
