Forecast Discussion: A drenching rain event will impact the State of Delaware for the second half of the weekend and into early next week. Saturday will be a brief drying-out period before the coastal storm system begins to affect the state on Sunday afternoon. A strong surface inversion and essentially calm winds all day will promote Moderate air quality. Particles will remain a maximum overnight and into Sunday morning before decreasing in the afternoon due to the onset of rain and gusty onshore winds associated with the storm, for daily average air quality in the upper Good range. Monday will be a washout, with periods of heavy rain and gusty onshore winds keeping particles in the lower end of the Good range. **Extended Forecast: Rain will taper off on Tuesday as the storm system moves away from the state. Continued strong winds will keep particles in the Good range. -Huff
