AQI: Good (0 - 50) AQI: Good (0 - 50)
Air quality is considered satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
AQI: Moderate (51 - 100) AQI: Moderate (51 - 100)
Air quality is acceptable; however, for some pollutants there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150) AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150)
Although general public is not likely to be affected at this AQI range, people with lung disease, older adults and children are at a greater risk from exposure to ozone, whereas persons with heart and lung disease, older adults and children are at greater risk from the presence of particles in the air.
AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200) AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200)
Everyone may begin to experience health effects members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

Forecast Discussion: The first weekend of Fall 2017 will feel more like mid-Summer. A strong area of high pressure centered to the west and north of the state will keep skies sunny and surface winds light. Temperatures will climb into the mid-to-upper 80s °F on Saturday and Sunday before reaching the low 90s °F on Monday in parts of the state. Although comfortable humidity will continue on Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be hot and humid. Post-tropical cyclone Jose has kept clean air flowing into the state for the past several days, and this pattern will persist on Saturday. Therefore, despite the summer-like weather, both ozone and particles will be limited to the upper Good range. As Jose’s influence wanes on Sunday and high pressure builds eastward, surface winds will decrease. A sea breeze is possible in the afternoon, which will help pollutants to accumulate. Air quality will move into the Moderate range; ozone has the potential to quickly climb up into the mid-to-upper Moderate range. Monday will likely be the hottest day of the week, but winds aloft and at the surface will shift back to the northeast (clean) in the afternoon. This cleaner flow pattern should limit rising ozone to the upper Moderate range, despite ample sunshine and weekday emissions. Particles will remain in the Moderate range as well due to humid conditions. **Extended Forecast: Tuesday will be a bit cooler than Monday, but still much warmer than average. Strong easterly flow aloft will bring clean maritime air into the state, for a return to Good air quality. -Huff
