Forecast Discussion: Saturday, warming temperatures and sunny skies will enhance ozone formation in the Sacramento region. However, moderate and gusty northwesterly winds will aid pollutant dispersion, and pollutant carryover from previous days will be low. Therefore, ozone levels will be low-Moderate. Sunday and Monday, calm to light northerly winds will reduce pollutant dispersion in the Sacramento area. In addition, temperatures in the upper 90s will enhance ozone formation, and an upper-level ridge of high pressure over California will limit vertical mixing. As a result, ozone levels will be high-Moderate on Sunday and Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups on Monday.
