Forecast Discussion: 6/18 - An Ozone Action Day has been declared! Ozone is forecast to reach the unhealthy for sensitive groups category for locations along the I-95 corridor and locations north due to light winds, record high temperatures, and abundant sunshine. Sensitive individuals including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the afternoon and early evening hours. In addition, levels of fine particulates are forecast to reach the moderate category throughout the state in response to light surface winds and increasing humidity. 6/19 - A cold front is expected to pass through New Jersey on Tuesday morning bringing a cleaner air mass into the region. Ozone levels are expected to lower, reaching the low moderate category in southern locations and along the shore. Fine particulates are expected to return to the good category state-wide.
