Forecast Discussion: AQI readings are GOOD on Monday in the wake of the frontal boundary that slowly crossed the Triad over the weekend. Another dry day is on tap for Tuesday with only some high clouds arriving through the afternoon. The air mass upstream is clean and another day of upper code GREEN ozone values is expected. A frontal boundary to the south of the area will begin to work northward on Tuesday night as a cold front approaches from the west. These boundaries will work to increase rain chances as low pressure forms over or just to the east of the Carolinas on Wednesday. The increased clouds and rainfall will keep air quality GOOD through the middle of the workweek. Cool, dry, clean air will arrive behind the system by Thursday as high pressure builds in. AQI readings are expected to remain in the mid code GREEN range. (Perrotte)
