AQI: Good (0 - 50) AQI: Good (0 - 50)
Air quality is considered satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
AQI: Moderate (51 - 100) AQI: Moderate (51 - 100)
Air quality is acceptable; however, for some pollutants there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150) AQI: Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (101 - 150)
Although general public is not likely to be affected at this AQI range, people with lung disease, older adults and children are at a greater risk from exposure to ozone, whereas persons with heart and lung disease, older adults and children are at greater risk from the presence of particles in the air.
AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200) AQI: Unhealthy (151 - 200)
Everyone may begin to experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.

Forecast Discussion: Breezy northwest winds are expected to continue through the afternoon, elevating fire risk across the Triad. With that said, air quality levels will likely rise into the upper Code GREEN range with potentially higher localized levels possible in close proximity to fire sources if they happen to ignite. Winds should gradually die down overnight, but light northerly winds are expected to persist tomorrow as high pressure ridging builds into the Piedmont. The aforementioned high pressure ridge should keep temperatures on the cooler side (along with enough low-level dispersion) to keep air quality levels in the upper Code GREEN range. The high pressure ridge is expected to settle over the Triad on Sunday, with light/variable winds and partly sunny skies allowing air quality levels to approach the high end of the Code GREEN range by the afternoon. Return flow on Monday will likely help in the elevation of temperatures to warrant Code YELLOW air quality levels for the start of the work week. (Payne)
