Forecast Discussion: Partly to mostly clear skies are expected on Friday as a weak surface high continues to influence the Triad area. With a fairly dry air mass in place, there is some potential for ozone levels to elevate into the upper Code GREEN/lower Code YELLOW range on Friday. By Saturday and Sunday, the surface high will have shifted offshore as an upper level ridge retrogrades over the region. With southerly winds bringing more moisture into the area, cloud cover is expected to increase through the weekend and there is the slight potential for scattered showers and thunderstorms through the weekend. Increased moisture and cloud cover will likely allow ozone concentrations to remain in the Code GREEN range through the weekend. With fairly light winds and little precipitation through the forecast period, particulate matter concentrations are expected to slowly accumulate in the Triad area with concentrations elevated in the lower Code YELLOW range through Sunday.
