Forecast Discussion: USG ozone is probable on Tuesday mainly for counties adjacent to I-95 from DC through northeastern Maryland given very light winds, clear skies, and the likely development of a lee trough and dirty bay breeze. Some smoke from western US wildfires has also made its way east and may begin to influence pollution levels beginning late on Tuesday. This will carry over in to Wednesday and may help continue USG conditions, though increased cloud cover and possible afternoon or evening storms may be enough to cap the ozone rise; therefore have stuck with a threshold USG forecast on Wednesday for now. Similar questions remain for Thursday but warm temperatures should keep ozone levels elevated. Fine particles will remain in the Moderate AQI range all three days. If smoke influence becomes evident, upper Moderate fine particle AQI is possible. - MDE
