Forecast Discussion: Despite strong high pressure in place, vertical mixing has decreased region particle concentrations reducing the threat of USG conditions Sunday. Never-the-less, particle concentrations are still expected to drastically increase Saturday night into Sunday with calm winds. Precipitation on Sunday will help keep the daily average below USG and in the Moderate, though a few hourly observations may momentarily reach that level. Some carry-over of particle concentrations will also take place on Monday morning before a front sweeps the area clean by afternoon resulting in low-Moderate air quality for the daily average. High pressure again moves in on Tuesday, raising concentrations within the Moderate range which will then persist in to Wednesday. - MDE
