Forecast Discussion: Thursday, as a cold front approaches Louisiana from the west, moderate to strong southerly winds will develop in Louisiana, helping to disperse pollutants. However, partly to mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will support ozone production, leading to Good to low-Moderate AQI levels across the state. Friday, as high pressure moves across Louisiana, calm morning winds will limit pollutant dispersion, and fog and mist will aid particle formation. In addition, partly to mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will enhance ozone formation throughout the state. As a result, AQI levels will be Moderate. Saturday, light to moderate southerly winds will develop ahead of an approaching low-pressure system, helping to disperse pollutants. However, continued sunny skies and warm daytime temperatures will support ozone formation throughout Louisiana, leading to Good to low-Moderate AQI levels.
