Forecast Discussion: Saturday, mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low-80s will enhance ozone formation in Louisiana, and light winds will reduce pollutant dispersion. As a result, AQI levels will be Moderate in most cities. Sunday, light to moderate southeasterly winds will gradually transport cleaner air into Louisiana. However, mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will continue to support ozone formation. These conditions, combined with pollutant carryover from previous days, will lead to Moderate AQI levels statewide. Monday, light to moderate southeasterly winds will continue to transport a cleaner air mass into Louisiana and scattered thunderstorms will enhance mixing in the atmosphere, helping to disperse pollutants. However, sunny, warm conditions will continue to support ozone formation, leading to low-Moderate AQI levels statewide.
