Forecast Discussion: Thursday, light winds during the overnight and morning hours will reduce pollutant dispersion across Louisiana. In addition, mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will enhance ozone production. However, moderate northeasterly winds developing during the evening hours will help to disperse pollutants. These conditions will result in Good to low-Moderate AQI levels statewide. Friday and Saturday, lighter winds will reduce pollutant dispersion across Louisiana, and mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will continue to aid ozone formation. Therefore, AQI levels will be Moderate statewide on both days.
