Forecast Discussion: Thursday, moderate southwesterly winds will disperse pollutants in Louisiana. However, smoke from regional fires may increase particle levels, leading to Good to low-Moderate AQI levels across the state. Friday, lighter winds will reduce pollutant dispersion. In addition, mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low-70s will aid ozone formation. However, low pollutant carryover from Thursday will result in Good to low-Moderate AQI levels. Saturday, moderate east-northeasterly winds will transport a cool, clean air mass into Louisiana, yielding Good AQI levels statewide.
