Forecast Discussion: Monday, mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low-90s will aid ozone formation in Louisiana. In addition, light northwesterly winds will limit pollutant dispersion. These conditions will lead to low-Moderate AQI levels in most cities. Tuesday and Wednesday, as a low-pressure system gradually moves into Louisiana from the eastern Gulf, increasing clouds and scattered thunderstorms will reduce ozone formation. However, light winds will continue to inhibit pollutant dispersion. As a result, AQI levels will remain Moderate throughout most of the state on both days.
