Forecast Discussion: PM2.5 readings vary widely throughout the moderate range while a few low moderate ozone readings were found yesterday. Surface and 850 mb ridge directly over the Ohio Valley, broad and fairly strong 500 mb ridge over the eastern half of the country, continued hazy, hot and humid skies with temperatures in the low 90’s south. These are typical ‘old school’ ozone episode conditions. However, a lingering closed upper level low might be slower to leave than expected and less solar energy is available now that it is September. Another wave will to run over the ridge to bring isolated storms to central Indiana later this week.
