Forecast Discussion: Air quality forecast northern Indiana issued Monday, May 20, 2013 for Tuesday, May 21 - Friday, May 24. A warm front is currently located to the north and northwest of northern Indiana across the Upper Midwest extending eastward from a surface low pressure in western Minnesota through central Minnesota to extreme northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan. A cold front extends southward from the surface low across western Iowa and eastern Kansas into southwestern Oklahoma. This weather system will be the primary surface feature which will produce strong to severe thunderstorms from the Southern Plains northward and eastward into northern Indiana and the Lake Michigan region. All of northern Indiana is in the slight risk area for severe thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday.
