Forecast Discussion: Air quality forecast northern Indiana issued Thursday, December 18, 2014 for Friday, December 19 - Monday, December 22. Expect one more day of good concentrations for fine particulates (PM2.5) on Thursday and then an increase in PM2.5 concentrations by Friday as wind speeds will lighten with an area of high pressure moving from northwest to southeast across the Lake Michigan and northern Indiana regions on Friday/Saturday. As the surface high pressure retreats to the southeast and east of northern Indiana, the wind direction will become southerly with wind speeds increasing slightly by Sunday/Monday. The next air quality forecast update will be on Monday.
