Forecast Discussion: A strong but quick-moving coastal storm will bring a wintery mix of precipitation to Delaware on Saturday. Precipitation will begin as snow overnight in northern and central Delaware and change to rain and freezing rain on Saturday morning; all rain is expected in southern Delaware. Although falling precipitation will help to clean out the atmosphere, the arrival of warm air aloft and light winds overnight will limit mixing and allow air quality to persist in the Moderate range. On Sunday, there will be a brief lull between storms. It will be mostly sunny, with increasing clouds in the evening. Limited vertical mixing in the morning and evening will keep air quality in the low end of the Moderate range. A Clipper system will quickly move through on Monday morning, bringing another coating of snow to the state. Colder and drier air will arrive in the wake of this system. Breezy northeasterly winds will ventilate the atmosphere and bring particle concentrations down into the Good range. **Extended Forecast: Arctic high pressure will build into the Mid-Atlantic region on Tuesday. Cold and dry air will promote Good air quality. -Huff
