Forecast Discussion: Saturday and Sunday, high relative humidity associated with patchy overnight fog and mist will aid particle production, and light winds will limit pollutant dispersion across Louisiana. In addition, mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures will enhance ozone formation each afternoon. These conditions, combined with pollutant carryover from day to day, will yield Moderate AQI levels statewide on both days. Monday, moisture associated with areas of fog and mist will continue to support particle production, and sunny and warm conditions will continue to support ozone formation across Louisiana. Therefore, despite light to moderate southerly winds helping to disperse some pollutants, AQI levels will remain Moderate throughout the state.
