Forecast Discussion: Friday, upper-level high pressure over northern California will produce mostly sunny skies and hot temperatures, enhancing the formation of ozone in the Sacramento region. However, light to moderate onshore winds during the afternoon will help to disperse pollutants. Therefore, ozone levels will be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Saturday and Sunday, the upper-level ridge will weaken as a weak upper-level trough develops off of the California Coast, resulting in moderate onshore flow each afternoon, dispersing some pollutants. However, mostly sunny skies will continue to enhance ozone formation. Therefore, ozone levels will be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups on both days.
