Forecast Discussion: The Upstate and Catawba zones are trending toward peaks in the code YELLOW range on this Friday afternoon, while the other zones are on track to stay in code GREEN. On Saturday, high pressure will ridge down the eastern seaboard and push a slightly cooler air mass into the Palmetto State on northeasterly flow. Cloud cover and chance of a shower or thunderstorm will increase for most areas, although the incoming air is not very "clean." On balance, look for a slight decrease in ozone levels across the zones on Saturday, with code YELLOW conditions expected in the Upstate, Catawba and Pee Dee zones and code GREEN elsewhere.
