Forecast Discussion: Ozone monitor readings on this Tuesday afternoon are trending toward peaks in the code GREEN range statewide. A weak cold front will cross South Carolina this evening and be off the coast by sunrise Wednesday morning. A dry and slightly cooler air mass will filter in with sunny skies and light winds from the north to northwest. Those conditions are conducive to the formation of ground-level ozone, but the influx of clean air behind the departing cold front should be able to limit ozone production. Thus, code GREEN conditions are expected across the state once again on Wednesday.
