Forecast Discussion: PM2.5 and ozone readings have been good all week. There doesn’t appear to be much deviation from this trend. So persistence is the theme in this forecast. Friday will be a dry day across the area with northerly winds around 5 mph. Humidity values will decrease and skies will start to clear with the departing system affecting the area today. This will allow for good air quality. The cutoff low over the southwest US starts to move east on Saturday and develops into an upper level trough. This system will provide rain and thunderstorm chances early in the day for southwest Indiana, so expect good air quality there for Saturday. The chances for precipitation reach central Indiana during the evening hours, and southeast Indiana later in the night. However, winds will be moderate at between 5 and 10 mph out of the east, and humidity values look to decrease throughout the day. Expect good air quality for Saturday. On Sunday, the entire area is likely to see rain from the upper level trough, so will go good again. The atmosphere starts to dry up on Monday thru Tuesday, but westerly winds remain moderate between 5 and 15 mph on both days. Expect good air quality again.
